There is absolutely NO Lye in the finished soap bar. When Lye and a fat are combined they go through a chemical reaction called saponification. Essentially the Lye and Fat react to create soap!! It’s such an incredible process. All of my soaps include more fat than is needed to neutralize the Lye, resulting in soaps that are cleansing as well as nourishing to your skin.
