Hello, my name is Monica and I, along with my family, started Kiefer’s Kitchen.
Truthfully, I never intended to start a small business, but sometimes blessings come to you and open a whole chapter you could never have imagined on your own
I had spent my entire life believing I had “sensitive skin”. After becoming a mom, I felt so guilty that I had somehow passed on my sensitive skin to our little. Watching someone so little and helpless struggle with dry skin, eczema, etc., is so frustrating.
After doing some research, I came across REAL soap that can easily be made at home. I decided to give it a try! My first batch of soap made an incredible difference in the skin of my entire family. I had planned on gifting soaps to family and friends for Christmas, but before I could, they started asking if they could purchase.
And so started Kiefer’s Kitchen! Starting a small family business was never my intention but it makes me so happy to share quality products that are wonderful for your skin.
Every product we sell is used and loved by my family. There is absolutely nothing on our site that isn’t a staple in our home.
Most of our products are the creation from a need that arose and our desire to move away from store bought products. Trial and error has come with the territory, but we are so confident in every product we have on our site today.

What Is Cold Process Soap?
The technical definition of soap is “a substance used with water for washing and cleaning, made of a compound of natural oils or fats with sodium hydroxide (lye)or another strong alkali, and typically having scent and coloring added.”
This means that real soap is derived from Lye- most items purchased in stores today are not actually soap but, in fact, synthetic detergents.
Cold process soap creates a chemical reaction called Saponification. Through the Saponification process, there is no lye left in the final soap bar. Because of this incredible process, you can add in real food ingredients!
Each ingredient added to the soap recipe adds its own incredible benefits- the options are endless!
